Why replace?

Your filter works hard.
Until it can't anymore.

The EcoPro Compact uses a multi-stage activated carbon block to trap contaminants as water flows through. Over time, those sites fill up. An exhausted filter doesn't fail visibly — the water still flows, still looks clear — but it stops protecting you.

🧪
Activated carbon saturates
Carbon blocks work by adsorption — contaminants bind to the surface. Once every site is full, contaminants pass straight through.
👁️
You can't see it failing
Unlike a blocked filter, a saturated one still flows normally. There's no visible warning. Replacing on schedule is your only safeguard.
🦠
Time matters, not just volume
Even low-usage households need to replace every 2 months. A wet carbon block sitting in your tap needs regular changing regardless of volume.
Month 1
Peak performance
Full contaminant removal. This is what the lab results reflect.
Month 2
Replace now
Carbon sites approaching saturation. Removal rates beginning to drop. Time to swap.
Month 3+
Unprotected
Looks and flows the same. But contaminants are passing through. Don't risk it.
What it removes

100+ contaminants.
All independently tested.

Every removal claim is backed by independent lab testing across four accredited laboratories — not manufacturer certifications. We publish the actual results so you can verify exactly what you're removing.

How to replace

Under 2 minutes.
No tools. No plumber.

The EcoPro Compact housing comes apart in two stages — off the tap, then open. Once you know the thumb trick, it's straightforward every time.

How to replace your filter
1
Twist housing off the valve
10 sec
Turn off the tap, then grip the whole filter housing and twist anticlockwise to unscrew it from the tap connector.
2
Open the casing
15 sec
Hold the connector piece steady and twist the casing anticlockwise to separate the two halves.
3
Swap the filter
20 sec
Lift the old cartridge out. Place the new one in, settle it flush. Close the casing — settle threads gently before turning.
4
Reattach & flush
40 sec
Screw housing back onto the valve. Run water for 30 seconds to activate the carbon block. First water may look grey — that's normal.
Common mistakes
Opening without the thumb trick. Place your thumb inside the connector piece first — it turns easily after that.
Not settling threads before turning. Always settle first to prevent cross-threading.
Panicking at grey water. It's carbon dust from the fresh filter — harmless and gone within 30 seconds.
How do I know it's working?
After flushing, the water should taste clean with no chlorine smell. If it still tastes off, flush for another 30 seconds.

FAQs

Common questions.

Every 2 months or 220 litres — whichever comes first. Even lower-usage households should replace on the 2-month schedule, as a wet carbon block needs regular changing regardless of volume.
This refill is designed specifically for the EcoPro Compact. It is not compatible with the EcoPro SMR or any other model. If you're unsure which filter you have, chat with our team and we'll confirm in minutes.
Yes — both are available at checkout on one-time purchases. Afterpay and Zip are not available on subscription orders due to payment processor limitations. If you'd prefer to use them, the 12-month pack (6 filters) is available as a one-time purchase.
There's no visible indicator — your filter won't change colour or reduce flow when it's exhausted. We recommend setting a calendar reminder every 2 months. If you're on a subscription, we handle this automatically.
Watch our 2-minute replacement video in the How to Replace tab above — it covers the thumb trick and thread-settling steps that make the swap easy. If you're still unsure, contact our Sydney team and we'll walk you through it.
